Drop-in arts and crafts session for all ages, with hands-on creative activities inspired by the museum galleries.
Marvellous Makers is back at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery this Sunday, 17 October, from 11am to 3pm. It's a drop-in arts and crafts session that turns a corner of the museum into a creative space for curious minds, with different hands-on activities on the agenda each week. The sessions are free and open to all ages, and you don't need to book ahead—you just turn up when you fancy it.
The activities change every week and take their lead from the galleries and exhibitions hanging around the rooms. One week you might be building wild sculptures from recycled materials; the next, drawing from real-life taxidermy. There are also huge collaborative floor artworks to get stuck into, or the chance to make your own wearable badge art. The idea is that you can make something and then wander off to find the piece of art that sparked it.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Birmingham and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

Because it's a drop-in, it works well if you're just passing through the museum and want to stop for a bit, or if you're planning a proper morning in. It's suitable for all ages, though children need to be supervised by an adult. The sessions run every Sunday from 11am to 3pm at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, and they're free to join.
