A symphonic concert celebrating twenty years of World of Warcraft music with full orchestra and choir, conducted by Kazuki Yamada.
Live in Concert: World of Warcraft comes to Symphony Hall on Saturday 31 October, a symphonic journey through twenty years of the game's music. The CBSO is presenting it in partnership with Blizzard Entertainment, and the whole thing is built around a full orchestra and choir. It's a broad look back: the programme draws on the game's earliest themes and carries through to its latest adventures, so it covers the music from the beginning right up to the present.
It's part of the CBSO's 2026-27 season under Music Director Kazuki Yamada. That season pairs major symphonic journeys with mesmerising soloists and conductors, new commissions, international touring and landmark moments, and it spans orchestral masterpieces, epic film scores, pop music, family favourites and bold cross-genre collaborations. This concert fits into that mix as one of the larger-scale symphonic nights. The show is promoted by esk live in association with B:Music.
If you've spent any time in Azeroth, you'll recognise the landscapes, legends and heroes the music is meant to bring to life. Hearing those themes played by a full orchestra and choir in a hall like this is a different experience from hearing them through a headset. It's a long-term look at the game's sound, from the earliest days to the most recent expansions, rather than a snapshot of one particular era.
