The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra performs David Arnold's score live to the film Casino Royale, marking the film's 20th anniversary.
The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra are playing Casino Royale live at Symphony Hall on Friday 30 October, with the film running on the big screen while they perform David Arnold's score in the room. It's part of Film Concerts Live!'s Casino Royale in Concert, produced with EON Productions and Metro Goldwyn Mayer and promoted by esk live in association with B:Music. The whole thing is staged to mark the film's 20th anniversary.
On screen is Martin Campbell's Casino Royale, which tells James Bond's origin story. The CBSO will be playing David Arnold's score live to the film, so you'll hear the music as it was written, performed in the room rather than coming from the speakers. Caleb Young conducts the orchestra for the night.
The concert sits within the CBSO's 2026-27 season under Music Director Kazuki Yamada, a programme that runs from orchestral masterpieces and epic film scores to pop, family favourites and cross-genre collaborations. This is one of the film score nights in that mix.
