A season of free live music with emerging artists and family sessions in the cafe at Symphony Hall, pairing music with a daytime menu of Brummie surprises.
Live at B:Eats returns to Symphony Hall on Tuesday 20 October, part of a season of free live music that brings emerging artists into the cafe. It's a daytime series, so it's more of a mid-morning or lunchtime thing than a night out. The music plays in the background of the cafe, where you can grab breakfast, brunch, lunch, or a sandwich, and sit with a meal or tea and cake while the set runs.
B:Eats is the daytime dining venue inside Symphony Hall, which is home to the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and also looks after Town Hall, the city's most iconic historic building. The Live at B:Eats season pairs emerging artists with a daytime menu of Brummie surprises alongside the breakfast, brunch, lunch and sandwich classics. It's designed as a casual, drop-in affair rather than a formal concert, so you can come for a quick bite or settle in for the whole thing.
There's a Summer Series that takes the format a step further with lunchtime sessions. In those, invited artists tell the stories behind their songs in a Bluebird CafƩ-style 'In The Round' setting, with the music and the storytelling sitting side by side. It's a bit more of a focused experience than the usual cafe sets, and it's a good way to hear the thinking behind the songs.
