Stand-up show by Guardian political sketch writer John Crace in which he tries to make sense of recent British politics.
John Crace brings his show What The Hell Just Happened? to MAC Birmingham on Saturday 31 October, a single night that runs for an hour and fifty minutes. If you've read the Guardian's political sketches over the years, you'll know the voice behind them: the sharp, dry eye that's spent a decade watching the British political class from the front row.
Crace has had a ringside seat to some of the biggest stories of the last ten years. He was there for the Scottish referendum, David Cameron's surprise election win, Brexit, and the long line of prime ministers that followed, from Theresa May through to Rishi Sunak. The show is billed as an evening of high comedy in which he tries to make sense of it all, and he even claims he'll reveal what the Queen's last words to Liz Truss really were.
Beyond the sketches, he's an author whose latest book is Taking the Lead: A Dog at Number 10. The show draws on that same political territory, so it's a good fit if you've spent the last few years shaking your head at the news and wondering how we got here. It's a one-man show, so the whole thing rests on his delivery.
