Screening of the Tony Award-winning musical Hadestown, filmed live from London's West End, with subtitles for dialogue and lyrics only.
Hadestown: The Musical is coming to MAC Birmingham on Sunday 18 October, with a second screening on Friday 23 October. It's a filmed version of the production that ran in London's West End, so you're seeing the stage show as it was performed there, rather than a live performance in the room.
If you're not familiar with it, Hadestown is a reimagining of the ancient Greek myths of Orpheus and Eurydice, and of King Hades and his wife Persephone. It's a genre-defying show that blends modern American folk with New Orleans-inspired jazz, and it's picked up eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, as well as the Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album. The production was directed by Rachel Chavkin and filmed live on stage in the West End, so the whole thing is captured from the theatre.

The screening runs for 2 hours and 22 minutes, which includes trailers, adverts and any Q&A or panel that might follow. It's screened with subtitles for dialogue and lyrics only, so you'll have the words on screen throughout. If you're planning to go, there are two dates to choose from: Sunday 18 October at 5:00pm, and Friday 23 October at 7:15pm. Tickets start from £14.95.
