Pub screening of Wes Craven's 1984 horror 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' in the monthly 90 Minute Movie Club series.
Hare And Hounds in Kings Heath is screening Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street on Wednesday 21 October, as part of the 90 Minute Movie Club. It's a monthly series that pairs a big screen with a pub setting and a tight runtime, so you're getting a cinema night without having to leave the pub.
The film is Craven's 1984 low-budget horror, one of the most well-known slasher films of all time. It's built around the boogey-man Freddy Krueger and a mix of surrealism, practical effects and 80s style. If you've only ever seen the later sequels, this is the one that started it all, and it works best on a big screen than it ever will on a laptop.
It's a mid-week one, so it's an easy way to get a cinema trip in without waiting for the weekend. Doors open at 19:30, and the film starts at 20:00, which gives you plenty of time to grab a drink and find a spot before the lights go down. Entry is £5.

If you're planning to make a habit of it, the club runs every month, and the next film already billed is Persepolis (2007), so there's a good sense of what's coming next. A Nightmare on Elm Street is at Hare And Hounds, 106 High Street, Kings Heath, B14 7JZ, on Wednesday 21 October: doors 19:30, film starts 20:00, tickets £5.
