Concert by the Brooklyn trio Gooseberry, a band that fuses alternative rock, indie and blues.
Gooseberry play The Sunflower Lounge on Thursday 29 October, bringing their Brooklyn sound to Birmingham. They're a trio that blends alternative rock, indie and blues, and this is a headline show with just the three of them on the bill.
It's a New York band, formed in 2019, and they've spent the last few years building a fair bit of momentum. Asa Daniels handles guitar and vocals, Evin Rossington is on drums and Will Hammond on bass. They've put up millions of streams and picked up praise from outlets like Galore and Under the Radar, and they've played Bowery Ballroom as a headline act and supported Ringo Starr. If you're just getting to know them, that's a good place to start: a Brooklyn trio that's played the Bowery and toured with a Beatle.
They're touring on the back of two albums. The first, All My Friends Are Cattle, came out in September 2024 and was tracked over three months at Precision Sound Studios in New York. It had Grammy winner James 'Jimmy T' Meslin on drums, Colin Bryson producing and engineering, Phil Joly mixing and Jennica Best mastering. Their second, Simple Sucker, followed on 25 September 2026, so this show comes just over a month after the new record landed. Between the two, they've got a decent amount of material to draw from.
