Interactive music concerts for babies aged 0-18 months featuring harp, accordion and songs in different languages.
Babies Adventures in Music (BAM) returns to MAC Birmingham on Friday 23 October, bringing back the venue's baby concerts. It's an interactive performance for babies, families and friends that celebrates music through a range of instruments, styles, gentle movements and stimulating sounds. Each session mixes familiar and new music, building on the babies' previous interaction to help them learn and grow, with harp, diatonic accordion, a selection of stringed instruments and songs in different languages. It's aimed at babies aged 0-18 months, and audiences have described it as 'magical', 'playful', 'mesmerising' and 'a spellbinding experience, totally engaging for babies and toddlers', with parents often saying the shows are as much for them as for their little ones. The project has also released an album, Vol I.
On the 23rd, the music comes from singer Sam Frankie Fox and multi-instrumentalist Ricardo Rocha. The sessions are 30 minutes long, with two slots to choose from: 11:00 and 13:30. If you can't make that date, there are two more Fridays to follow: 20 November at 11:30 and 13:30, and 11 December at 11:30 and 13:30. Tickets are £14.95 for an adult and child together, and the venue is wheelchair accessible. You'll find it at MAC Birmingham, Queen's Ride, Edgbaston, B5 7SE, sometimes held in the Foyle Studio on the second floor.
