A hands-on workshop to create Halloween and autumn-themed jewellery using techniques from Working Clasp at the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter.
Working Clasp are running an autumn leaves and Halloween jewellery making workshop at Craft & Culture on Saturday 17 October. It's a session where you'll make your own jewellery around those two themes — autumn colours and Halloween — so you'll walk away with something you've actually put together yourself.
The workshop is held at The Museum of the Jewellery Quarter, which is a perfectly preserved workshop in the heart of Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. It's a bit of a time capsule: when the proprietors of the Smith & Pepper jewellery manufacturing firm retired in 1981, they simply ceased trading and locked the door, leaving everything just as it was. Today it stands as a museum that tells the story of the Quarter and Birmingham's renowned jewellery and metalworking heritage, so you're making your own pieces in a place that's practically a monument to the craft.

If you're planning to visit the museum around the workshop, it's open Thursday to Sunday, 10:30am to 4pm, and only by guided tour. The workshop itself is on Saturday 17 October, and it's run by Working Clasp.
