Beginner-friendly Argentine tango class and social run by Queer Tango Birmingham, with an introduction, class and open practica.
Queer Tango Birmingham are back at the Stirchley United Working Mens Club on Wednesday 28 October, with the whole evening running from 7pm to 10pm. It's one of their regular sessions — they usually run on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month, and occasionally the fifth when there is one.
The night is set up specifically for newcomers, so you don't need to have danced before to turn up. From 7pm to 7.30pm there's an introduction for new dancers, followed by a beginner-friendly class from 7.30pm to 8.30pm where you rotate partners throughout. From 8.30pm to 10pm it opens up into a practica and social, with no organised teaching or tandas, so you can just dance. They play primarily traditional tango music, and the sessions are run as an explicitly queer-friendly and beginner-friendly space open to everyone, regardless of role or gender presentation.
