Folk music gig by singer-songwriter Anthony John Clarke, with keyboardist Julia Porter, at the Kitchen Garden Cafe.
Anthony John Clarke plays the Kitchen Garden Cafe on Thursday 18 February, starting at 19:30. He's a folk singer, songwriter and raconteur originally from Belfast, and he's been part of the UK music scene for thirty years. He first made his mark with the songs 'The Broken Years' and 'The Only Life Gloria Knows', and he's now accompanied on stage by his partner, keyboardist Julia Porter.
Clarke is a regular MC at the Cropredy Festival, the UK's largest folk-oriented event, and he performs alongside Dave Pegg of Fairport Convention. Critics and fellow musicians have called him a 'National Treasure' and a 'talented wordsmith', and his album The Ultimate Collection gathers his finest work.

It's a folk gig in the proper sense: songs and stories from a singer who's spent three decades in the scene. He'll be joined by Julia Porter on keyboards, so the set will have a fuller sound than a solo act. The night runs from 19:30 at the Kitchen Garden Cafe in Birmingham (B14 7SA), and tickets are £15.40.
