An Intro to Scrying: Seeing Beyond the Veil for Prediction and Spirit

The Zen Shop is hosting An Intro to Scrying: Seeing Beyond the Veil for Prediction and Spirit on Wednesday 21 October, a two-hour workshop that runs from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Scrying is one of the oldest forms of divination: the practitioner gazes into a reflective surface, a flame, water, a crystal or the darkness to quiet the conscious mind and let impressions, images, symbols and intuitive information emerge. It's a hands-on, in-person session, so you'll be doing the work rather than just listening to someone talk about it.

Over the course of the evening, you'll work through several different methods. There's crystal ball and mirror scrying, candle and flame scrying, water scrying, and the use of darkness and shadows. The workshop also covers how to recognise and interpret the symbols, colours and fleeting images that arise, which is often the part people find most tricky when they're starting out. The session is organised by The Zen Shop themselves.

It's aimed at complete beginners, and also at anyone who's tried scrying before but struggled to know whether they were doing it right. No previous psychic or magical experience is needed, so you don't need to have any background in divination to get something out of it. If you've ever looked into a mirror or a candle flame and wondered what you were seeing, this is a good place to start figuring it out.

The workshop takes place at The Zen Shop, 162 High Street, Deritend, Bordesley, B12 0LD, in Birmingham. Tickets are £22.38, and the whole thing runs from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Wednesday 21 October.
