Folk and country singer-songwriter Alex Hart plays live at the Red Lion Folk Club in Birmingham.
Alex Hart plays the Red Lion Folk Club on Wednesday 18 November, starting at 7:30 PM. She's a Devon singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who blends folk and country with a pop sensibility, and she'll be performing as the night's main feature.
She's a professional musician from Plymouth and has been performing for 15 years. She plays guitar, bass, percussion and a number of stringed instruments, and she's as much a session player as she is a solo artist. She's worked with Jethro Tull's Martin Barre and folk musician Seth Lakeman, touring with them across the USA and Europe. On her own, she's released three records, and during lockdown she recorded the album Under the Covers.
There's a dance record in there too: in 2013 she signed to two small UK and US labels and released a cover of Angie Stone's 'I Wish I Didn't Miss You', which reached number two in the dance charts and got support from Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1. When she's not on stage, she's a self-employed music teacher and works with the Barbican Theatre.
