Live show by Irish artist Æ MAK (Aoife McCann), whose genre-defying pop she calls 'nursery rhymes for adults', at The Victoria.
Æ MAK plays The Victoria on Friday 22 January 2027, with the show starting at 7:30 PM. The night is presented by Uncover Music, and tickets start from £10 via Skiddle.
Æ MAK is the stage name of Aoife McCann, an Irish artist whose music friends describe as 'nursery rhymes for adults' — genre-defying, other-worldly pop built on industrial beats and kinetic stage shows. She draws from a wide-ranging set of influences: Björk, Aldous Harding, Judee Sill, Paul Simon, and the limbs of a young David Byrne. She signed a worldwide publishing deal with BDI Music UK in 2019.
Her debut record, Folk Songs For Mama & Papa, is a folk work she called a 'return to voice' and that Hotpress described as an 'outsider pop' record. Live, the act combines tribal rhythms, soaring synths and lush vocal harmonies. She's performed across Europe and the UK supporting Warpaint, Django Django, Tune-Yards and Ye Vagabonds, and has played festivals including Fusion, Reading & Leeds, Latitude, KEXP, Icelandic Airwaves and Electric Picnic.
