Comedy show written by and starring Grace Cunningham about a journalist whose Harry Styles fan-fiction goes viral.
Grace Cunningham brings her comedy show Why is Harry Styles Ruining My Life to The Studio at the Grand Opera House from Thursday 25 February to Saturday 27 February 2027. It's written by and starring Cunningham herself, presented by Hawthorn Theatre Productions.
The story follows Cara, an ambitious journalist whose teenage years come back to haunt her when some Harry Styles fan-fiction she wrote anonymously goes viral, racking up 220 million reads. Things go from awkward to professional when her clueless boss demands she write a front-page article about it, forcing her to confront memories she'd rather have left buried. She doesn't do it alone, though: a subconscious manifestation of Harry Styles himself turns up to act as her guide through the whole thing.
Cunningham describes the show as nostalgic, empowering and wildly funny, and it's a one-woman piece that runs for one hour with no interval. It's recommended for ages 14 and over, and the production is supported by the Grand Opera House Trust.
