The UK tour production of Reginald Rose's courtroom thriller, set inside a jury room, arrives in Belfast following record-breaking West End seasons.
Twelve Angry Men comes to the Grand Opera House from Tuesday 18 May to Saturday 22 May 2027. It's Reginald Rose's courtroom thriller, the one that brought the 1957 three-time Academy Award-nominated film to the stage, and it arrives in Belfast after record-breaking West End seasons. It was hailed as 'the classiest, most intelligent drama playing in the West End'.
The whole thing takes place inside a single jury room. Twelve jurors have to decide the fate of a young delinquent accused of killing his father, and what looks like an open-and-shut case becomes a dilemma as their prejudices and preconceived ideas about the accused, the trial and each other turn the tables until a nail-biting climax. It's a play that stays in one room and lets the tension build from there.
Christopher Haydon directs a large cast. Gray O'Brien is Juror 8, Bill Ward is Juror 3, Ricky Norwood is Juror 7, Tristan Gemmill is Juror 10, Ben Nealon is Juror 12, Paul Beech is Juror 9, Graham Ellwell is the Guard, Jeffrey Harmer is Juror 6, Mark Heenehan is Juror 4, Kenneth Jay is Juror 11, Tim Maxwell-Clarke is Juror 2, Owen Oldroyd is the Foreman and Micquel Pereira is Juror 5. The production is part of a 2026/27 UK tour visiting nine venues, and the Belfast run includes a signed performance on Thursday 20 May at 7:30pm. It's recommended for ages 12+.
