A new stage version of Agatha Christie's Poirot mystery, with Peter Polycarpou as the detective, directed by Lucy Bailey.
Agatha Christie's The Hollow opens at the Grand Opera House on Tuesday 3 November, running through to Saturday 7 November. It's a new stage version by Tamsin Oglesby, produced by Fiery Angel and directed by Lucy Bailey, whose recent credits include the London hit Witness for the Prosecution.
The story is set at The Hollow, an elegant English country estate. Hercule Poirot arrives hoping for a quiet break in the country, but he's drawn into one of the most unsettling cases of his career when a body is discovered and a smoking revolver is found in an unsteady hand. It's a classic Christie setup—a closed circle of suspects in a big house, with Poirot at the centre trying to make sense of it all.
Peter Polycarpou takes the role of the Belgian sleuth; he's an Olivier nominee you might recognise from House of the Dragon and The Diplomat. He's joined by Luke Allen-Gale as John Cristow and Inspector Colquhoun, Victoria Blunt as Henrietta Angkatell, Kemi-Bo Jacobs as Veronica Craye, and Michael Praed as Sir Henry Angkatell. This production reunites Polycarpou and Bailey, who worked together on sell-out tours of And Then There Were None, Murder on the Orient Express, and Death on the Nile.
