The international smash-hit musical about the six wives of Henry VIII, with music by George Stiles and lyrics by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, returns to Belfast.
SIX returns to the Grand Opera House from Tuesday 27 April to Saturday 1 May 2027, with performance times varying across the run. It's the musical about the six wives of Henry VIII, and it's built around a pretty simple premise: the queens take to the mic and remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into an 80-minute celebration of 21st-century girl power. It's a Tudor take-off that's played on Broadway and in the West End, and it's back in Belfast for a short run.
Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss wrote it, with music by George Stiles. Moss co-directs alongside Jamie Armitage, and Carrie-Anne Ingrouille handles the choreography. The band is an all-female group called The Ladies in Waiting, led by musical director Sara De Sanctis. It's a tight production that runs an hour and twenty minutes with no interval, and it's recommended for ages 10 and over.
It's picked up more than 35 major international awards along the way. The Tony for Best Original Score and Best Costume Design are two of them, as is the Whatsonstage Award for Best West End Show, which it took home in 2022, 2023 and 2025. The 2020 BBC Radio 2 Audience Award for Best Musical is another. The original studio album went platinum in 2026, and the live-captured cinema release played on more screens than any other limited-release cinema event.
