Amateur production of Shrek the Musical by St Agnes' Choral Society, recommended for all ages.
St Agnes' Choral Society are bringing Shrek the Musical to the Grand Opera House in May 2027, running from Tuesday 4 May to Saturday 8 May. Performance times vary across the week, so you'll need to check the specific date you're after. There's also a signed performance on Thursday 6 May at 7:30pm.
It's a well-known one: the show is based on the Dreamworks Animation film and William Steig's original book, with a book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori. It first went to Broadway under DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, and it's recommended for all ages, so it works as a family outing as much as a night out with friends. The production runs two hours and thirty minutes, including the interval.
St Agnes' Choral Society is an amateur company, and this production marks 70 years on the Belfast stage for them. They've put on Anything Goes, Calamity Jane and The Addams Family in the past, so they're no strangers to a big musical. This one takes them back to the Grand Opera House at 17 Great Victoria Street, BT2 7AD.
