Festive night market with more than 120 traders, street food, artisan crafts, mulled wine and live music at St George's Market.
St George's Market becomes the Christmas Twilight Market on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 November, from 4pm to 10pm both nights. It's run by Social Enterprise NI in partnership with the Department for the Economy through the Social Economy Work Programme, and it's long been a fixture of the city's festive calendar. For many, it's the event that kicks off Belfast's Christmas celebrations.
Inside, the market transforms into a festive scene after dark, with twinkling lights, mulled wine, mince pies and festive florals. More than 120 traders gather there, bringing local produce, handmade gifts and artisan crafts alongside gourmet street food, winter warmers, craft beers and locally produced spirits. There's live music and entertainment throughout, so you can drift between the stalls with a drink in hand. The programme also reserves two free stands for social enterprises that make ethical, sustainable, luxury gifts, giving them a platform to show their work to the city's shoppers.
It's a good spot for getting a head start on Christmas shopping without the midday rush. You've got the food and drink to keep you going, the live music to set the mood, and a huge range of local makers and producers all in one place. If you're after something handmade or a bit of local produce for a gift, this is where you'll find it.
