Musical reimagining of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice set to 1980s pop anthems, with a local cast, limited to three performances.
Pride and Prejudice and 80's Hits! returns to the Waterfront Hall (Waterfront Studio) in Belfast for a limited three-performance run this November. It's a musical reimagining of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice set to a soundtrack of 1980s pop anthems, and it's back after a sold-out premiere in May 2026 that went down to standing ovations. The show features a local cast, dazzling costumes and energetic choreography, and it's become one of Northern Ireland's newest musical theatre success stories.
Writer and director Kerry Rooney MBE is the one behind it, and she's described the reaction so far as beyond what they could have hoped for. She says it appeals to Austen fans, 1980s music lovers and anyone who enjoys a night at the theatre, so it's a fair bet you'll find something to like even if you only lean towards one of those. The run is limited to three performances, and the first one is in aid of NI Children's Hospice, with all proceeds going to the charity.
