Liverpool stand-up Paul Smith brings his new 'HAPPY' tour to the SSE Arena in Belfast.
Paul Smith is bringing his new tour, HAPPY, to the SSE Arena in Belfast on 8 and 9 January 2027. The Liverpool stand-up has built his name on a mix of crowd work, sharp observations and true stories, and HAPPY is billed as the biggest and boldest show of his career so far.
If you've followed him before, you'll know how much of the set comes from the room. Smith is known for working the crowd, so a good chunk of the night is built around who's in the seats and what they're saying. Around that, he weaves the stories and observations he's known for, and HAPPY takes that approach to a new level: fast, fearless and relentlessly funny, with a heavy dose of audience interaction and stories pulled straight from real life. It's the kind of show where no two nights end up exactly the same, because so much of it is made up on the spot.

This isn't a one-off visit, either. The Belfast dates are part of a wider world tour that takes in Ireland, Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, and it follows a run of sold-out shows and viral success across the globe. The two nights at the SSE Arena are on 8 and 9 January, both starting at 20:00 and running for 135 minutes — so you're looking at a full evening's worth of comedy rather than a quick hour. If you're planning to go, it's worth keeping in mind that with the crowd work, the closer you are to the stage, the more likely you are to end up as part of the act.
