Paul Heaton

Paul Heaton plays The O2 Belfast on Friday 4 June 2027, one of a series of UK and Ireland dates he's announced for the summer. He'll be joined by Lightning Seeds, with guest singer Rianne Downey also on the bill.

The tour comes on the back of Jenius, Heaton's first-ever solo number one album. It's his twenty-third record in total, produced by Ian Broudie of Lightning Seeds and recorded at Blueprint Studios in Manchester. It brings together fifteen new original songs performed by Heaton and his band, with Rianne Downey on vocals. He called the title a modest nod to being called a 'genius'.

While the new material is the starting point, the set draws from across his career, including classics by The Beautiful South and The Housemartins. Heaton, a Bromborough native from Merseyside, led The Housemartins and co-founded The Beautiful South, where he scored a UK number one with 'A Little Time'.

The O2 Belfast, in the city's Titanic Quarter, opened in December 2000 as Northern Ireland's premier purpose-built venue and is the home ice of the Belfast Giants. Doors open at 6pm, with the show starting at 7:30pm, though times are subject to change.
