Free outdoor dance and physical theatre show with a 12-foot giant wheel by Autin Dance Theatre, with live music from Beat Carnival and BEATnDRUM, at the Belfast International Arts Festival.
Autin Dance Theatre bring Parade â The Giant Wheel to C.S. Lewis Square on Saturday 17 October, as part of the Belfast International Arts Festival. It's an outdoor show built around a twelve-foot giant wheel, and it's the Irish premiere.
Five performers work with, around and through the wheel, turning the public space into a living stage of balance, momentum and shared imagination. It combines contemporary dance, physical theatre, procession and a playful connection with the audience. The whole thing is non-verbal and highly visual, so you don't need to follow a script to get it. For this Belfast run, Autin Dance Theatre is working with Beat Carnival and BEATnDRUM, who bring rhythm, participation and a sense of community celebration to the piece. The concept and artistic direction are by Johnny Autin, with music by Richard Shrewsbury.
