Tea dance session for older adults, part of Belfast City Council's Positive Ageing Month programme.
There's a Tea Dance coming to Duncairn Community Centre on Friday 30 October, and it's part of something a bit bigger than a single afternoon. It falls under Positive Ageing Month, a programme of free events and activities run by Belfast City Council alongside Age-Friendly partners, aimed at older adults. The city frames itself as an age-friendly place committed to helping older residents live happier, healthier lives with plenty of opportunities for connection, and this is one of the ways they're doing it.
If you're wondering what else is on, the month's offering covers a fair bit of ground. There's wellness and fitness, arts and crafts, talks and tours, music and dance, social get-togethers, and film screenings, as well as digital and tech support. The Tea Dance sits in that music and dance category, so it's one of the more active things on the list, though the social side is just as much a part of it. It's the kind of thing that works as well if you're there to dance as it does if you're just there to have a tea and a chat.

Because it's part of the council's Positive Ageing Month, it's free to attend. The whole programme is run by Belfast City Council and their Age-Friendly partners, with the Tea Dance taking place at Duncairn Community Centre on 30 October.
