Irish premiere screening of Adam Wingard's action horror and sci-fi thriller 'Onslaught' at Movie House Cinemas.
Movie House Cinemas (City Side) is hosting the Irish premiere of Onslaught on Wednesday 28 October, as part of the Seventh Belfast International Film Festival. It's the latest feature from director Adam Wingard, and this is the first time it's being screened in Ireland.
Onslaught is an action-packed horror/Sci-Fi thriller. The story follows an Army sniper who has to unleash hell to protect her young daughter when a rogue squad of genetically engineered super soldiers break loose in the desert. It's billed as a return to Wingard's earlier work, You're Next and The Guest, and it carries heavy nods to 80s classics like The Terminator, The Hitcher, Friday the 13th and Scanners — so if you're into that era of slashers and synth-heavy thrillers, this is right in that wheelhouse.
It's a bit of a sneak peek, too. The film is due for a wider cinema release in December, so this screening gets it in front of audiences a couple of months early. The premiere was made possible thanks to Universal Studios Ireland and Movie House Cinemas.
