Lyric Theatre revival of Louisa May Alcott's 'Little Women', adapted by Anne-Marie Casey and directed by Debra Hill, as a festive stage classic.
Little Women opens at the Lyric Theatre on 28 November, running through to 9 January. It's a Lyric production based on Louisa May Alcott's story, adapted for the stage by Anne-Marie Casey, with music by Fiona Shiel. The story follows the March sisters — Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy — as they grow up under the guidance of their mother, Marmee, reimagined here as a festive stage classic.
This is a revival of the production originally directed by Emily Foran in 2023; this run is staged by Associate Director Debra Hill. It plays on the Lyric's Mainstage, the 389-seat auditorium that's part of the theatre's larger complex. The Lyric is Northern Ireland's only full-time producing theatre and the first arts venue to receive a 5 Star accreditation from Tourism NI. Since its capital build project, it's almost three times the size of the old theatre, with the Mainstage sitting alongside the Naughton Studio and a rehearsal room the same size as the main stage.
