Film preview of 'Ghost School' at Queen's Film Theatre during the Cinemagic festival for young people.
Ghost School is getting a preview screening at Queen's Film Theatre as part of the 37th Cinemagic International Film Festival for Young People, which runs from 27 September to 1 November 2026. It's a double bill, so you'll get the feature alongside the short The Girl With the Cabbage—two for the price of one, and both put on for Halloween audiences, so it's a good one to bring a group to if you're in the mood for something spooky around the end of October.
Cinemagic is an annual international film and television festival for young people, held in association with Belfast City Airport and funded by the Department for Communities through Northern Ireland Screen and Belfast City Council, with support from Film Hub NI through the BFI FAN Film Exhibition Fund. This year's edition is a big one, with more than 125 events across Belfast, including film previews, screenings, masterclasses, workshops and family events. The programme mixes world cinema, classic and brand-new family and teen films, over 50 industry masterclasses with international and home-grown talent, the Young Filmmaker Competition for young directors from the UK and Ireland, and CineSeeker jury panels for young film critics.

Ghost School is one of the previews on that list, and with The Girl With the Cabbage as its companion, it's a proper double feature. The whole thing is part of Cinemagic's broader focus on young filmmakers and audiences, so it's right in the festival's wheelhouse. If you're around Belfast during the festival, there's plenty more to pick from across the city, from the masterclasses to the competition screenings, but this one is a straightforward cinema night at Queen's Film Theatre.
