Festive comedy about family, food and who gets the fortune, written by and starring Caroline Curran.
Dining Home for Christmas opens at The Studio on Thursday 3 December, running through to 31 December with performance times that vary across the month. It's a festive comedy about family, food and who gets the fortune, from the team behind the sell-out Christmas cracker Deck The Hols!.
Caroline Curran wrote the show and stars in it, alongside Patrick Buchanan and Rhodri Lewis, with Dominic Montague directing. The plot centres on a family Christmas dinner that doesn't quite go to plan: raucous relatives, roasting-hot revelations and tasty truths all end up at the table. There's a saucy family secret in the mix, a nosy neighbour who might end up with egg(nog) on their face, and the possibility of someone being banished from the Christmas banquet. It's a comedy that takes the familiar chaos of a big family meal and turns it into the whole show.
It runs for one hour with no interval, so it's a relatively short commitment — easy to fit in around the rest of your December plans. It's recommended for ages 16+, which gives you a good idea of the tone.
