Three nights of Irish traditional music by Beoga with special guests Huartan, Pauline Scanlon, Barry Kerr, Brian Finnegan and Duke Special.
Beoga are playing three nights at The Empire in Belfast this December, on Wednesday 2, Friday 4 and Sunday 6. Each night brings a different set of guests, so the line-up changes depending on when you go: the 2nd is with Huartan; the 4th with Pauline Scanlon and Barry Kerr; and the 6th with Brian Finnegan and Duke Special.
Beoga are one of Ireland's leading traditional bands, formed in the north and known for virtuosic musicianship and an innovative approach to Irish traditional music. Over more than two decades they've toured the United States, Australia and New Zealand, played sold-out headline shows and performed at festivals like Port Fairy Folk Festival, WOMADelaide and Perth Festival. The Wall Street Journal called them 'the most exciting new traditional band to emerge from Ireland this century'.
They've worked across a few different worlds. They earned a Grammy nomination for The Incident, collaborated with Ed Sheeran on his album รท and joined him on his 2018 Irish stadium tour. They were also part of his 2026 Loop world stadium tour, which they left in September when venues silenced advocacy for a Free Palestine; they're founding members of Irish Artists for Palestine. Their 2020 mini-album Carousel, produced by Jonny Coffer, blended Irish and American contemporary folk, and Phases returns to their traditional foundations.
