The Ulster Operatic Company brings the Tony award-winning Broadway musical '42nd Street' to the Grand Opera House.
42nd Street is coming to the Grand Opera House from Tuesday 2 November to Saturday 6 November 2027, presented by the Ulster Operatic Company. It's an Amdram production supported by the Grand Opera House Trust, and it marks the company's return to the stage following The Addams Family back in 2026.
The show is a Broadway classic that won a Tony, and the story centres on Peggy Sawyer, an aspiring chorus girl whose big break becomes the stuff of legend. It's a proper old-school musical, and the production leans on the numbers that made it famous: 'We're in the Money', 'Lullaby of Broadway', 'Shuffle Off to Buffalo' and 'Forty-Second Street' are all in there, carried by tap routines and period glamour. It runs for two hours and thirty minutes, including an interval.
