The Paper + Craft Pantry celebrates Stationery Store Day with a stationery costume contest, DIY craft stations, a boba drink station, and an in-store scavenger hunt.
Paper + Craft Pantry is hosting Stationery Store Day on Saturday, Aug. 1, at its shop on Springdale in East Austin. It's the store's signature event, and if you've never been, it's a good place to start. The day is built around a stationery costume contest, goody bags, D.I.Y. stations, a boba drink station, and an in-store scavenger hunt. There's also a 'Paper Passport' for visitors to collect as they move through the shop.
To get a sense of the scale, a blog post about a previous edition noted that the first guest arrived at 6:45 AM, and by 11 AM the line wrapped around the side of the shop. It's the kind of morning where showing up early pays off.
For some context on the place itself: Paper + Craft Pantry is a local, Asian-owned and woman-owned + operated small business in East Austin that opened in 2015. As of 2022, it added Wednesday to its opening days, welcoming customers five days a week. Its shelves stock work from more than 100 independent makers and artists, so it's a good spot to browse even when there isn't a special event going on.
