Salsa night with beginner and intermediate lessons, live band, and dancing. 21+.
Ed West is the main feature for Queer Two-Step Night at Sagebrush on Monday, September 28. The night is hosted by Neon Rainbows, who've been running this queer honky-tonk for a while now. It's a long-running regular on the calendar, and Sagebrush is the home for itโa space that leans into the camp and the country for a crowd that's 21 and over.
The evening is built around dancing. There are beginner and intermediate lessons to get you moving before the live band takes over, so you can show up without knowing a step and still end up on the floor. Once the lessons wrap, the band keeps things going for the rest of the night, and the floor stays open for dancing. It's a queer-friendly take on a honky-tonk, and the whole thing is aimed at a 21+ crowd.
If you're new to the scene, the lessons are a good way to ease inโbeginner for those who've never tried it and intermediate for anyone who's got the basics down. From there, it's just a live band and a dance floor. It's a queer space, so it's a good spot to bring friends or come on your own if you're looking for a queer dance night in the city.
