Benefit music festival for the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians with live music, vintage vendors and food pop-ups.
HAAM Fest returns to Hotel Vegas & The Volstead Lounge on Tuesday, September 22, for another night of music benefiting the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians. The whole thing runs from 6 PM to 1 AM, and it's free to get in.
The lineup is a long one, with eight acts spread across the night: Cheetah, Commercial Breaks, The Ripe, Queen Serene, FreeBloo&theFreak, Fifi Knifefight, Valice, and Greyson Turner. Most of them are Austin-based, so it's a local bill through and through. The night is built around the motto "Good Times for a Good Cause," and the grounds are split into three areas: the Hotel Patio, with doors opening at 6 PM; Inside Vegas, where doors open at 9 PM; and the Volstead Stage, presented by SXSW. Between sets, there are vintage vendors curated by Decades in Retro and a hot dog pop-up by Grandpa's Glizzys.
If you're not familiar with what HAAM does, it's worth a quick look. Founded in 2005, the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians works to give Austin-area musicians access to affordable health, wellness, and prevention services. It started as a small non-profit and has grown into a model for other communities, helping musicians, DJs, and music teachers across Travis and surrounding counties access more than $215 million in healthcare services. This festival is one of the ways they raise money to keep that going.
