Annual celebration of Hunter S. Thompson featuring live music, a vintage market, and a tropical cocktail menu.
Fear and Loathing takes over Hotel Vegas on Saturday, July 18, from 4 PM to 10 PM. It's an annual celebration of Hunter S. Thompson, held on what would have been his 89th birthday, and the party happens out on the Hotel Patio.
The music kicks off in the evening: Haight Ashbury Medical Clinic plays at 7 PM, Lauren Lakis follows at 8 PM, and Daiistar takes over at 9 PM, with TV EYE providing visuals throughout. Between the sets, the patio stays active with a few other things going on. The World Cup 3rd Place Playoff match will be broadcast on the Jumbotron, there's a photobooth, and a vintage market curated by Decades in Retro. There's also a featured tropical cocktail menu to work through.
If you get there early, there's a bit of a bonus: the first 89 people to buy a drink get a free screen-printed shirt from Feels So Good. Given the 89th birthday theme, that number makes sense, and it's a good reason to show up closer to the 4 PM start rather than waiting for the music to start at 7.
