Sushi flight with six chef's choice creations paired with Ono Sake at Ashland.
Ashland is launching Sushi Flights + Sake Night on Thursday, October 15, and it's not just a one-off. The series runs every Thursday from now through December 31, so if you can't make this first one, you've got plenty of chances to catch it later in the fall.
The draw here is the sushi flight: six chef's choice creations served together. Since the chef picks the pieces, you're getting a variety of rolls and nigiri rather than ordering a few of the same thing. It's a good way to sample a range of what the kitchen is doing in one sitting, and because it's chef's choice, the lineup can change from week to week. That makes it a different experience each time you go back.
To go with the sushi, they're pairing the flight with Ono Sake. The two are meant to be enjoyed together, so you've got the six pieces and the sake as a set. If you're into sushi and sake, it's a straightforward way to get both on the table at once.
