Mrs. Doubtfire musical comedy, presented by Regions Bank Broadway in Atlanta, at the Fox Theatre.
Mrs. Doubtfire comes to the Fox Theatre from December 15 to 20, presented by Regions Bank as part of Broadway in Atlanta. It's a musical comedy based on the 1993 Twentieth Century Fox film, and Craig Allen Smith takes the lead as Euphegenia Doubtfire.
If you remember the movie, you know the setup: Daniel Hillard is an out-of-work actor who loses custody of his children and creates the alter ego of a Scottish nanny, Euphegenia Doubtfire, just to stay in their lives. The stage version comes from the Tony Award-nominated team behind Something Rotten!, with a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O'Farrell and music and lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick. It's directed by four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks, known for Hello, Dolly!, with choreography by Lorin Latarro (Waitress) and music supervision by Ethan Popp (Tina: The Tina Turner Musical).
Critics have described it as "wonderful, heart-warming, and laugh-out-loud funny" (Manchester Evening News), "a feel-good, family-friendly comedy that delivers" (The Hollywood Reporter), and "the lovable, big-hearted musical comedy we need right now" (Chicago Tribune).
