Musical comedy about two frenemies who drink a magical potion to restore their youth, presented by Broadway in Atlanta at the Fox Theatre.
Death Becomes Her opens at The Fox Theatre on Tuesday, November 17, and runs through Sunday, November 22. It's a musical comedy adaptation of the 1992 dark comedy film, brought to Atlanta by Broadway in Atlanta.
The story centers on Madeline Ashton, a screen star of fading beauty, and Helen Sharp, the long-suffering writer who lives in her shadow. Their rivalry turns deadly when Madeline steals Helen's fiancé. A mysterious woman named Viola Van Horn offers them a potion that restores their youth and beauty, sparking a battle for vanity that lasts eternity and proves that beauty comes with a very permanent, very hilarious cost. It's a dark comedy about two frenemies who drink a magical potion to get their looks back, and it doesn't take long for things to go sideways.
Behind the scenes, the show is directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli. It's a Tony Award-winning production in its own right, and it picked up the 2025 Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for Favorite New Musical. Time Out called it "savagely funny," and Theatrely described it as "Broadway comedy gold," with Beyoncé, Goldie Hawn, and David Corenswet among the fans. The show runs 2 hours and 30 minutes with one intermission and is recommended for ages 12 and up.
