A community chili cook-off with live music by Angelina David and Elliott Phillips, where proceeds benefit First Baptist Church of Hapeville.
The Downtown Live Chili Cook-Off returns to Hapeville Arts Alley on Saturday, October 17, from 4 PM to 7 PM. It's a local competition where home cooks go head-to-head for the title of best chili in town, and the community gets to be the judge. You spend the afternoon sampling a variety of recipes and voting for your favorite, so you'll want to come hungry.
Alongside the food, there's live music throughout the evening. Angelina David performs, and Elliott Phillips takes the headlining set. Between the different pots of chili and the two acts, it's a full afternoon of eating and listening in one spot.
There's a charitable side to it, too. All proceeds from the event go to First Baptist Church of Hapeville, which uses the funds to help people in need throughout the community. So, when you're tasting your way through the entries, you're also contributing to a local cause.
