Class teaching how to paint chrysanthemums using traditional Chinese watercolor techniques, open to artists of all levels.
Andrew Blooms is teaching a Chinese watercolor class at the Atlanta Botanical Garden on Saturday, October 24, from 10 AM to 12 PM. The session focuses on painting chrysanthemums using traditional Chinese watercolor techniques, and it's open to artists of all levels—absolute beginners are just as welcome as more experienced painters. Blooms runs the class through Blooms Emporium, and the Garden provides all the instruction and materials, so you don't need to bring your own supplies.
Traditional Chinese watercolor is a distinct approach, and spending a morning on it is a good way to pick up a new skill without needing to commit to a full course. The class is part of the Botanical Garden's adults programming for the fall of 2026, and since it's a two-hour session, it's an easy thing to fit into a Saturday morning. You'll walk away with a finished painting of chrysanthemums and a better sense of how the technique works.
