A 90-minute spray paint and sip workshop led by Studio W.I.P., where participants learn graffiti and street art techniques in a gallery-like space.
Studio W.I.P. is hosting a BYOB spray paint and sip workshop on Saturday, October 17, in Atlanta. It's run by Studio W.I.P., a project from Native 312 Events, and it brings a Chicago street-art flair to the city. The whole thing takes place in a gallery-like space, so you're painting in a room that actually feels like it belongs to the art world rather than a classroom.
Inside, a private instructor walks you through the ins and outs of working with spray paint, stencils, and other elements of graffiti and street art. You'll spend the session learning how to handle the cans and layer your work, and you leave with a canvas you've painted yourself. The session runs for 90 minutes, with music playing in the background to keep the energy up while you work. It's BYOB-friendly, so you can bring your own drinks to sip on while you paint.
One of the best things about this one is that it's open to ages 6 and up, so it works as a date or as something to do with kids—just keep in mind that a valid ID is required to consume alcohol. The venue is ADA compliant, too. People who've been before have repeatedly praised the instructors as warm, welcoming, funny, and energetic, which is exactly what you want when you're trying something new and potentially messy.
