Full-day celebration of Atlanta's food culture with a mac and cheese competition, food vendors, a local art and vintage vendor market and live music.
The Atlanta Mac and Cheese Festival returns to Believe Music Hall on Saturday, October 24, from 11 AM to 9 PM. It's a full day of food, music, and family stuff, and it's built around a simple question the festival has been asking since it started in 2019: who makes the best mac and cheese in the city?
The competition is the centerpiece of the day. Neighborhood favorites go up against independent chefs, and there's cash on the line: $500 for first place, $250 for second, and $100 for third. Beyond the contest, there are other food vendors to hit and a vendor market with local art and vintage festival fashion. Live music runs throughout the day, so you can hang out and eat without having to rush off once you've had your fill.
If you're bringing kids, there's a specific spot for them. From 2 to 4 PM, the venue's nightclub turns into a Kiddie Rave, complete with live DJs, laser lights, and glow sticks. It's a good way to keep the little ones occupied while the adults focus on the mac and cheese. The festival frames itself as more than just a competition, and with the rave and the market, it's a full day rather than a quick stop.
