A 60-minute puppetry adaptation of Jørn Riel's Greenland comic book series, presented by La ruée vers l'or.
Arctic Tall Tales opens at the Center for Puppetry Arts on May 27, 2027, and runs through June 6. It's a puppetry production presented by La ruée vers l'or, based on the best-selling comic book series and novel by Jørn Riel.
The story takes us to the northeast coast of Greenland at the dawn of the 1950s, where a handful of intrepid hunters are scattered across the landscape. Out there, confinement, solitude, rationing and harsh weather shape their days, right alongside imagination, companionship and the strange, unbelievable stories they carry. As the production follows them, the truth begins to blur in a frozen expanse of snow and silence. It's described as a larger-than-life adaptation brimming with humor and humanity, set against the vast, unforgiving beauty of the far north.
