A musical journey through the Swinging Sixties with an all-star West End cast and 40 hits from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and more.
Twist & Shout comes to The Tivoli Theatre on Thursday 5 November, a musical journey through the swinging sixties staged by an all-star West End cast. It traces the explosion of Brit Pop from 1962 through to the flower power and free love era of the late sixties, reviving the hits of The Beatles, Herman's Hermits, Gerry and the Pacemakers, The Rolling Stones, Cilla Black, Manfred Mann, Dusty Springfield, Lulu, Sandy Shaw and many more.
The set is a non-stop, 40-song feast that pulls from across the decade. You'll hear 'She Loves You', 'Glad All Over', 'You're My World', 'Jumpin' Jack Flash', 'Something Tells Me I'm In to Something Good', 'Shout' and 'Ferry Cross The Mersey', all performed in bespoke costumes. The show is described as one that will get the audience on their feet and dancing in the aisles.
It's a long run of songs from a wide range of artists, so it covers a fair bit of ground — from the early beat groups to the more psychedelic sounds that took over later in the decade. The West End cast handles the vocals, and the costumes are made for the show.

It starts at 7:30 pm at The Tivoli Theatre, 34-48 Guild Street, Aberdeen, AB11 6NB. Tickets are £31.50, which includes a £1 venue restoration donation.
