Guitar tribute show playing the hits of Hank Marvin, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Brian May, Jimmy Page, Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, Ritchie Blackmore, Tony Iommi, Van Halen and Slash, on its 10th anniversary tour.
The Story of Guitar Heroes are playing The Tivoli Theatre on Wednesday 28 October, as part of their 10th Anniversary Tour. It's a tribute to the guitarists who shaped rock over the last few decades, and they're billing it as the UK's No.1 guitar anthems concert.
The set moves through five decades of music, starting with 1950s Rock & Roll and working its way up to the most influential guitar heroes of the modern era. Along the way, they play the hits of Hank Marvin, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Brian May, Jimmy Page, Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, Ritchie Blackmore, Tony Iommi, Van Halen and Slash. That's a fair bit of ground to cover in one night, and it runs from the early days of the electric guitar through the big arena sounds of the seventies and eighties and into the more recent stuff.
What sets the show apart is the gear they bring with them. They use no fewer than 35 authentic guitars, switching between them to match the specific sound of each legend they're covering. It's a technical way of doing things, and it's what they're known for. Time Out described it as 'every lick expertly played by highly experienced, gifted musicians'.
