Festive family adventure in which Santa's magical train takes a wrong turn and the brave festive friends race through Lapland to get him back on track.
The Santa Express – Lost in Lapland! lands at The Tivoli Theatre on Sunday 15 November, a new festive family adventure from the team behind the venue's favourite family productions. The story kicks off when Santa's magical train takes a wrong turn and throws the whole journey to Christmas into chaos, leaving a group of brave festive friends to race through snowy forests, sparkling skies and the heart of Lapland to get him back on track.
It's built for younger audiences, so the comedy and songs are aimed their way, and the costumes are as bright as you'd expect from a Lapland adventure. There's plenty of audience interaction throughout, so the kids get to be part of the story rather than just watching it from their seats. Every child also gets a special golden ticket on arrival, a nice little touch to keep them occupied before the show starts.
One thing that sets this apart from your usual theatre trip is the dress code: the venue encourages everyone to turn up in Christmas PJs, festive jumpers or their best Christmas outfits, so it's as much about what you wear as what you see. If you're taking little ones, it's worth knowing that each act runs about 35 minutes, which is a helpful length for those with shorter attention spans.
