Film music concert of Hans Zimmer scores from Top Gun, James Bond, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar and Dune, with a pirate from the films as presenter.
The Music of Hans Zimmer & Others comes to The Tivoli Theatre on Wednesday 18 November, with the music of the two-time Academy Award winner taking centre stage. The evening is performed by The Hollywood Film Orchestra & Choir, who bring together a full symphony orchestra with electric guitars, bass, keyboards and drums, backed by a choir and solo vocalists. Selected film clips run alongside the music throughout the night.
The set draws from a wide stretch of Zimmer's career. You'll hear scores from Top Gun, James Bond, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Inception and Interstellar, as well as the Oscar-winning soundscapes of Dune. It's a broad run of his work, so there's plenty of familiar ground to cover across the different films.
One thing that sets this apart from a standard film music concert is the presenter. The show is hosted by a cast member from the Pirates of the Caribbean films — a pirate who introduces the music as the night goes on. If you buy your tickets, he's also available for a free photo afterwards.
