Liverpool indie-pop band Space play The Tunnels with their hits and new album tracks.
Space are playing The Tunnels on Saturday 24 October, their first Aberdeen date in some time. The set will pull from both ends of their catalogue, with the big hits from their early years sitting alongside tracks from their new album.
If the name rings a bell but the songs are a bit hazy, it's because they first made their mark in the mid-90s. They're a Scouse indie-pop outfit from Liverpool who hit the charts with quirky, uplifting tunes like 'Female of the Species', 'The Ballad of Tom Jones', 'Neighbourhood' and 'Me And You Vs The World' β the kind of songs that are hard to mistake for anything else. Record-company wrangles kept them quiet at the start of the new millennium, but they returned in 2012, playing material from Attack Of The 50ft Kebab and Give Me Your Future.
This show is built around that same mix. They're bringing the well-known songs that put them on the map, and they're adding the newer album tracks to the set, so you'll hear the early stuff and the recent work in one night. It's a full-band show, with Space as the only name on the bill.
