A tribute show of classic 1970s hits from T Rex, David Bowie, Mott The Hoople and the Bay City Rollers.
Sounds of the 70's comes to The Tivoli Theatre on Saturday 24 October, a tribute show that works its way through the songbook of the seventies. The set is built around the songs of T Rex, David Bowie, Mott The Hoople and the Bay City Rollers, and they're not the only ones on the list β the night pulls in songs from many more across the decade.
If you've got a soft spot for that era, there's plenty to recognise here. T Rex and David Bowie cover the glam end of things, with Mott The Hoople bringing the rock and the Bay City Rollers the pop side. They're described as a trip down memory lane, and the bill is broad enough that you'll likely hear a few things you remember from the radio, even if you don't know every name on the list.
It's a single evening of music rather than a full concert tour, so the whole thing fits into one night. The set moves through those different sounds β the glam, the rock, the pop β and keeps going with more from the seventies beyond the main four.
